Lucky

She had a terrier named Lucky. I had seen her bringing Lucky out for walks and she was very attached to her. It looked like a dog ! It was Lucky trying to get out of the water. She called out to her but there was no way we could rescue Lucky. The canal was just too big and too deep. Lucky was not that lucky after all. Just then a strong current carried her further down the canal. That was the last time we saw Lucky and her carcass was never found. She was absent from school for the next few days while though I was physically present, my heart was with her all that time. I wanted to visit her but didn't dare to. I could only hope that she would return soon. Then came the news that .........................
